The Mission of the Brian P. Mattson Restorative Justice Center, 
as a part of Westshore Dispute Resolution Center, 
is to enhance public safety and accountability 
by supporting victims, building competencies of offenders,
and promoting reconciliation between victims, offenders, families,
and the community.

What is BARJ?

BALANCED AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

• BARJ seeks to engage victims, offenders, their families, other citizens and community groups in addressing youth crime.

• It does this by using programs of Victim-Offender Mediation, Family Group Conferencing, Impact Panels, and educational presentations.

• The staff is responsible for Referral Development, Victim and Offender Preparation, and Community contacts.

• Volunteers facilitate the conferences.
